About George
The best description I can give of myself is a coach. What type of coach?
I coach people toward weight loss (men and women), achieving a toned and athletic look.
I also coach people in learning how to be ‘naturally motivated’
I think of myself as a coach because I help people bring the best out of themselves. Instead of being an instructor or teacher, that gives lessons, orders and ‘knows best’ I much prefer the empowering approach that coaching offers.
Coaching is based on self empowerment and encouragement of learning. I could tell someone something, and it may work or be useful, but if I can get them to know, or realise that for themselves, the learning is deeper, more meaningful and will promote further learning and independence.
I also think of myself as a coach for two more reasons:
1: after studying so many diverse areas of human performance and development over the years it has become very hard to pin down ‘my profession’. After all, when one is proficient in fitness, fat loss, strength and conditioning, sports performance, hypnotherapy, NLP, Kinesiology, Nutritional Therapy, Metabolic Typing and Tai Chi instruction it becomes almost a meaningless game.
2: NLP Logical Levels. I don’t like to identify myself in one way, because it naturally encourages us to think in only one direction. If I say ‘I am a Kinesiologist’, it almost means that I am not something else. Like a father, brother, fiance or friend. So when someone asks what I am, I normally reply with what I do. As one of my NLP teachers said ‘no matter what you say you are, you’re always more than that’. I like that.
